Rosslare Ferry Port Information

About The Port

Rosslare is one of the busiest and most popular ports in the Republic of Ireland. It connects Ireland with Wales, France & Spain with up to 34 sailings per week, depending on the time of year. Some of the destinations include Fishguard, Pembroke, Bilbao and Cherbourg.

Rosslare has a relatively small history. First developed in 1906 by Great Western Railway to accommodate steam ferries, the harbour continued to grow and is now an extremely well-established EuroPort. As well as the ferry services, Rosslare plays an important role for freight transport for Ireland in Europe.

Brittany Ferries, Stena Line and Irish Ferries all operate out of the port. Despite the 3 different operators, there is currently just 1 ferry terminal.

Directions For Getting There

If you are travelling by car, it is likely that you will be arriving from Dublin. From there, follow the N11 to the South through Donnybrook and Stillorgan. If you are travelling from Cork, follow the N8 until you get to the Dunkettle Interchange. Then follow the N25 and change on to the R740 to Rosslare. From both Cork and Dublin, please allow 3 hours of journey time. In terms of parking, there is a large NCPS car park with variable hourly, daily and weekly rates.

If you are travelling to the ferry port by train, Rosslare Europort rail terminal next to the ferry port is linked directly to the main line stations with trains arriving from Dublin, Cork, Waterford and Limerick.

If you are travelling by bus/coach, Bus Éireann offer coach services from Dublin, Wexford, Arklow and Wicklow and their Expressway service provides links from across the rest of Ireland.
