The Channel Islands are a number of Islands that divides France and the UK. They are made up of 5 main islands Alderney, Guernsey, Jersey, Sark and Herm. Geographically and distance wise they are in fact closer to France than England but are very much more British in character then French, something any visitor to the Channel Islands will testify. All the islands offer amazing and often dramatic coastlines dependent upon the time of year that you visit and there are a number of natural and historic harbours and a surprising range of subtropical flora and species of birds to see thanks to the warm Gulf of St Malo.
